The position is to be filled as soon as possible, with an initial contract duration until June 30, 2026. There are very good prospects for an extension. The position will initially be offered as a remote contract, valid until the legal registration of our operations in Jordan is complete. Once registration is finalized, the successful candidate will be expected to relocate and be based in Amman.
Welthungerhilfe is establishing a regional hub in Amman to enhance its operations in West Asia, covering the Occupied Palestinian Territories, Jordan, Yemen, Iraq, and potentially other countries. As the Middle East Partnership Coordinator, you will be responsible for developing and overseeing a regional partnership strategy tailored to the diverse contexts within the hub’s scope. You will identify and engage with partners whose visions align with WHH’s objectives, define operational frameworks for collaboration, and support country teams in managing effective and equitable partnerships. A key focus will be to foster principled, context-sensitive collaboration while ensuring quality program delivery for crisis-affected populations.
Your responsibilities
- Develop and implement a regional and country-specific partnership strategy for WHH’s Amman Hub, tailored to diverse local actors (NGOs, CBOs, volunteer groups).
- Identify strategic partners, lead capacity assessments, and coordinate the establishment of contracts and sub-grants in collaboration with relevant departments.
- Support and monitor partner-led project implementation, provide technical guidance, and lead capacity-building on topics such as project cycle management and compliance.
- Support partners in adhering to WHH and donor policies while actively reviewing partnership management processes to reduce red tape and partner workload.
- Coordinate with WHH’s global and country teams to promote equitable partnerships aligned with WHH’s localization commitments.
- Represent WHH in external coordination spaces on partnership and localization, and actively engage with local partners and national/local NGO platforms.
Your profile
- Bachelor’s degree in humanitarian action, development studies, political sciences, sociology or relevant disciplines
- At least 3 years partnership advisory/management roles with national or international NGOs.
- Previous experience in Yemen, Iraq or Palestine would be an added value
- Practical experience in developing relationships with a variety of stakeholders in supporting a partner-based approach to programme implementation
- Ability to work independently in a systematic and organized manner
- Commitment to localization, equitable partnerships and, beneficiary accountability and humanitarian principles
- Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
- Ability to work as a team player with a can-do attitude
- The successful candidate must be willing and able to travel within the region, subject to security conditions and visa eligibility.
- Fluency in verbal and written English is essential, at least B2 / upper-intermediate level in Arabic would be required
