Internal Controller and Data Analyst

PSE description :

Pour un Sourire d’Enfant (PSE) – For a Child’s Smile is a non-profit organization founded by Christian and Marie-France des Pallières, operating in Cambodia since 1995. Its mission is to help to help children escape from destitution and lead them to decent, skilled and well-paid jobs.

Recognized by the local authorities, PSE is working in respect of the country, with the Cambodians, and thus supports sustainable development.

Six main programs – adapted to the needs of the children – have been developed: food, health, protection, education & schooling, vocational training and help for families.

PSE helps more than 6,500 children and more than 5,500 graduates from PSE Vocational Training program already have successfully integrated the job market with a real qualified position.

PSE employs more than 600 people in Cambodia (Phnom Penh mainly) and 6 staff at the headquarter in France.  300 volunteers in different countries are actively working on making the organization known, on fundraising donations and sponsorships.

In 2000, PSE was awarded the French Human Rights Prize by the French Republic.

 

Job Position: 

Ensure a proper internal control, coordinate audits and risk assesment (50%) and upgrade the global data analysis skills of the NGO in Cambodia (50%).

 

Missions :

  • Internal Control
    • Act as point of contact of the Audit Committee of the NGO and monitor the annual action plan
    • Strengthen the internal control framework (Ensure proper internal controls), including adherence to group policies and implementation of key risk management practices
    • Coordinate internal and external audits, acting as the primary point of contact for auditors
    • Work (in) with business and process owners to implement remediation efforts and improve controls
    • Identify financial, operational, and compliance risks within the organization
    • Detect gaps, weaknesses, and inefficiencies in internal processes and propose corrective measures
    • Train employees on internal control procedures and compliance requirements
  • Data Analyst
    • Develop and maintain a comprehensive data cartography (map of data sources and flows)
    • Facilitate the transfer of data from multiple sources to a central database
    • Collaborate with key departments (Finance, Schools, IT, etc.) to understand data needs and optimize data usage
    • Clean, preprocess, and structure raw data for análisis
    • Conduct data analysis and provide actionable recommendations
    • Suggest key performance indicators to be followed

Expériences / Formation

Education :

  • Master’s degree in finance/audit
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in Audit or Internal Control
  • Proven experience in internal control, for example in an audit firm
  • Skills and experience in Data Analysis

Salaire

Type of Contract: Limited duration with a minimum period of one year, 2 to 3 years being preferable. 

Compensation: to be discussed
VSI contract for European Union Nationals, providing comprehensive coverage for healthcare, assistance/repatriation insurance, pension contribution, plane ticket one way and return, plus round plane ticket once a year to home country

Localization: Phnom Penh, Cambodia

Starting date: as soon as possible
