Communication Coordinator – Communication Department – WOAH HQ Paris, France

The World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH – founded as OIE) is a leading intergovernmental organisation representing 183 Members worldwide. Through its activities, WOAH makes a decisive contribution to improving animal health, protecting animal welfare and strengthening Veterinary Services.

Job Description
Positioning and reporting
The Communication Coordinator reports to the Head of the Communication Department and works in close collaboration with the Communication team. The Coordinator will support the management and operational functions of the Department to ensure the successful delivery of its activities.
Job purpose
With the aim of strengthening the implementation of WOAH’s Communication Strategy and ensuring smooth operations within the Communication Department, the Communication Coordinator will contribute to the implementation of WOAH’s Communication Strategy, provide assistance across a range of the team’s communication activities and support departmental management functions.
Missions and activities

1. Contribute to the implementation of the Communication Strategy
Support the Communication Department in implementing the Communication Strategy’s action plan.
Coordinate activities related to the General Session, ensuring smooth execution and alignment with strategic objectives.
Oversee the development of promotional materials and gifts for events, ensuring adherence to WOAH’s branding.
Provide logistical and operational support for key communication campaigns and initiatives.
 
2. Provide punctual support on the team’s activities
Assist with media monitoring, compiling relevant news, and reporting key findings.
Provide support for social media activities, including caption writing and development.
Contribute to website management tasks, including updates and content uploads.
Draft content for communication materials and coordinate translations of documents and content when necessary.

3. Support the management function of the Department
Monitor and follow up on departmental budgets, ensuring compliance and efficiency in resource allocation.
Coordinate procurement processes for communication-related services and products.
Organise team meetings, including preparation of agendas, coordination, and minute-taking.
Monitor team email inboxes to ensure timely responses and distribution of requests.

Expériences / Formation

Qualifications and Experience
Required qualifications and experience

– Graduate degree in communication, journalism, public relations, or a related field.
– At least five years of proven professional experience in project management and communication.

Expected skills
Required technical skills:
– High proficiency in English (oral and written).
– Proficiency in project management tools and software.
– Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
– Familiarity with social media platforms, website management, and content creation.
– Familiarity with design tools like Canva and Adobe Creative Suite
– General knowledge of budgeting and procurement processes.

Additional technical skills
– Knowledge of the third WOAH official language (Spanish or French) will be considered an asset.

Required interpersonal skills:
– Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
– Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural team environment.
– Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under tight deadlines.

Salaire

Working conditions
– Type of contract: Fixed-term contract.
– Duration: 2 years renewable.
– Location: WOAH Headquarters 12 rue de Prony 75017 Paris, France.
– Salary: commensurate with qualifications and experience), exempt of French income tax + annual performance bonus + plus allowances based on eligibility.
– The post is a full-time position based at the WOAH Headquarters in Paris and requires long hours in a seated position at a computer. It can entail missions abroad.
– Telework is currently authorized for up to 3 days per week.
