Mental Health & Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) Focal Point – COZO, Antwerp (w/m/x)

WHO ARE WE?

Doctors of the World is an international medical NGO and part of an international network. We provide medical assistance to vulnerable groups in Belgium and around the world.
We aim for universal health coverage, where everyone has access to care, without barriers (financial, cultural, geographical, etc.).

To carry out our mission, we rely on three pillars:

  • Care: ensuring real access to care for the population.
  • Change: we don’t just want to help; we want to make a lasting difference.
  • Testify: we do not stay silent. Thanks to our experience and presence in the field, we challenge (local, regional, and (inter)national) authorities with facts, figures, and realities.

Our projects are guided by values that apply across our entire organization: social justice, empowerment, independence, commitment, balance.

THE ESSENTIAL

The COZO (Reception, Care and Orientation Centre) in Antwerp provides temporary psychosocial and medical consultations for people who have no effective access to care in the greater Antwerp area. In addition, we work to ensure access to healthcare through various possible procedures. We raise awareness about social issues and use our voice to advocate for structural changes.
You will join a warm team of permanent staff and volunteers.

As the Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) Focal Point, you ensure the quality of mental health care (MHPSS) within the project and provide guidance and support to health workers and/or volunteers (medical – social – psychological). You will work to strengthen the mental health care network in the Antwerp region.

Under the hierarchical responsibility of the Project Leader and the technical responsibility of the Mental Health Referent, the role also includes management of a small team of volunteers.
