The World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH – founded as OIE) is a leading intergovernmental organisation representing 183 Members worldwide. Job Description |
Positioning and reporting Under the authority of the Deputy Director General (Institutional Affairs and Governance), and the supervision of the Head of the Events Coordination Unit (ECU), in close cooperation with other staff of the Events Coordination Unit. |
Job purpose The Event Coordinator ensures the organisation of different type of WOAH events (General Session, Global Conference, and other meetings) when assigned, by delivering all necessary steps on time and in right level of quality. The events can be onsite or online, in Paris, France or abroad. |
Missions and activities This position is part of the Events Coordination Unit, to plan and deliver WOAH events. This mainly go through the two following phases: 1. Preparation phase 2. Execution phase 3. Post Event Phase |
Expériences / Formation
Qualifications and Experience
Required qualifications and experience
– Graduate degree (Bachelor’s a minimum)
– At least 2 years of experience in coordination and management of events (organisation, company or agency)
– Experience in an International Organisation as event coordinator would be an asset
– Demonstrated experience in all aspects of event planning, management and delivery, including event infrastructure procurement and management, and social media skills
Expected Skills
Technical skills
– Excellent knowledge of English (both spoken and written)
– Excellent knowledge of another WOAH official language (French or Spanish)
– Good knowledge of the third official language of the WOAH (French or Spanish) would be an asset
– Fully operational on Microsoft 365 environment (SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Forms, Loop…) to produce and manage solid documents
– Familiar with project management tool(s) (e.g. Planner, Trello, Miro, Airtable)
– Experience in events planning
– Events onsite and online

– Excellent written and verbal communication skills
– Excellent organisation skills ability to be flexible with priorities and manage time and multiple task
– Keen sense of observation

Salaire
Working conditions
– Salary: commensurate with qualifications and experience.
– Type of contract: WOAH Staff – Fixed-term contract.

The post is a full-time position based at the WOAH Headquarters in Paris and requires long hours in a seated position at a computer. It can entail missions abroad. It entails long hours seated at a computer, stood up, walk, and substantive walking during events. It may occasionally require travel in preparation to or holding of events.Some reaching, lifting, and carrying may be required when setting up for events.
