Humanitarian & Development Data Forum|The 2020 GeOnG forum is going virtual!

The 7th edition of the GeOnG forum is moving online.

Given the situation and the level of uncertainty that still remains worldwide, CartONG, who has been organizing the event every 2 years since 2008, felt this was the best solution.

On the bright side, this move to an online format offers a great opportunity to make the forum more inclusive, by increasing the reach of the event!

The CartONG team is currently working on revamping the agenda for the transition to the virtual world with the support of the GeOnG speakers, considering how to best adapt it to make it relevant for an online event.

To this end, it was decided to decrease the duration of the conference to two days. The 2020 GeOnG forum will therefore be held this year from Monday 2nd to Tuesday 3rd of November.

The spirit of the GeOnG will however remain the same! The 9 roundtables announced back in June as well as the experience-sharing session on the Covid-19 crisis will take place as planned.

The CartONG team will also strive to offer a selection of 15+ online workshops as well as 15+ short presentations on a wide range of topics related to the theme of the 2020 edition: “People at the heart of Information Management: promoting responsible and inclusive practices”.

A majority of the conference content will be available free of charge to registered participants and then made available to the sector as a whole following the event.

Registration to the forum will open on October 1st. Stay tuned by signing up to the GeOnG newsletter here.

We look forward to seeing you at the GeOnG forum in November!
