Advocacy

Coordination SUD fosters the elaboration of joint positions among French NGOs, carries them in public debates, and runs the consultation with the French government, the European Union, and international organizations so as to influence public humanitarian aid and development policies.

Coordination SUD’s member NGOs meet in six thematic commissions (ODA and innovative financing, agriculture and food, climate and development, education and vocational training, gender, and health) and ad hoc working groups (G8-G20, taxes on financial transactions, etc.)

The Europe Commission coordinates the advocacy actions of Coordination SUD’s various working committees and collective arenas on the European level. The International Action Commission brings together representatives of all of Coordination SUD’s committees to foster coordination among the activities of the various commissions and collective work spaces, and to stimulate the construction of advocacy positions and strategies for crosscutting events and negotiations (elections, G8-G20, etc.).
